Fencing For All                                                                  10/31/2024

Hi, my name is Bodhi Sackman, and I'm a Senior at Tocoi Creek High School in St. Augustine, Florida and a member of the North Florida Fencing Club. My Senior project, "Fencing for All," aims to make fencing more accessible to students by providing scholarships and resources.
Many sports, including fencing, require specialized equipment and training, making them financially out of reach for many. By offering scholarships to cover group training, private lessons, and starter gear, I hope to break down these barriers and encourage more individuals to experience the sport.

I'm currently raising funds for a small scholarship to support a high school student or late starter in their fencing journey. The scholarship will include group training, private lessons, and a set of practice gear, which will remain with the North Florida Fencing Club for the student's use as long as they participate. Once I have raised funds, there will be an application process and decision will be made for the 2025-2026 fencing year, before I head to college.

To support this initiative, I'm offering North Florida Fencing Club magnets for a minimum donation of $5 each. Let's work together to make fencing a more inclusive and accessible activity for everyone, one person at a time.

Project Pivot                                                          11/24/2024

 After careful consideration, I am moving forward with a strategic adjustment and revitalization of this project. Following insightful discussions and requests for a shift away from a donation-based model around the interest of the sport, I am committed to transforming the initiative fully. I am currently brainstorming innovative ideas and returning to the creative process to ensure that I achieve a more impactful outcome possibly in higher needed area.
